show that is sure to capture your audience’s attention! Her repertoire includes originals interspersed with favorite hits from the past and present.

Powerful vocals, sassy presence and a winning smile make her one of the hottest up-and-coming artists in music today. Talent buyers have had Tracey at the top of their lists and have placed her on the stages of many Canadian and American fairs and festivals including Big Valley Jamboree, Dauphin Countryfest, Merrit Mountain Music Festival, Calgary Stampede, Canadian Finals Rodeo and the National Finals Rodeo in Las Vegas, to name a few. The CCMA offered Tracey great exposure asking her to perform at Fanfest and the prestigious President’s Dinner during Country Music Week. Her biggest honor was a nomination for the CCMA Independent Female Vocalist of the year which opened the door to even more opportunities including a guest appearance on the nationwide CBC Christmas special “A Huron Carole” with Tom Jackson.  You can also catch Tracey on occasion belting out the national anthems on "Hockey Night in Canada" supporting the NHL's Calgary Flames.

Tracey has quickly become accustomed to the camera after shooting four music videos including her most recent “Seemed Like Yesterday” which aired on CMT's regular rotation. All of Tracey’s videos have been shot by award-winning director Joel Stewart (Paul Brandt’s "Convoy") and her most recent video, filmed in Calgary, gave her the opportunity to try her hand at acting! Whatever the situation Tracey makes the most of it and always has fun! Her singles “You’re the Reason Why”, “Connected” and “One Mississippi” all hit the airwaves backed with CMT videos, which helped gain strong national airplay and industry attention!

Tracey’s CD “Dreaming Out Loud” features music by the best songwriters and musicians in the business and was produced by Steve Fox at Louis Sedmak’s studio in Edmonton. The songs, hand-picked by Tracey, highlight both her depth and versatility as an artist.

Tracey started life in the Maritimes, moved to Ontario, then Saskatchewan, and now resides in  Alberta. Despite the westward transitions, one thing has never changed – her love of music!

Born in Nova Scotia, Tracey came by her musical attributes honestly. Her grandmother, Myra, sang with the famous "Sweet Adelines", and her mother was very musical as well, participating faithfully in the church choirs and other vocal groups. Since Tracey was a little girl, music has always been her focus. She performed throughout her childhood and teenage years and excelled at vocal competitions from Ontario to Saskatchewan.

Doing most of her growing up in Yorkton, Saskatchewan, Tracey could always be found performing at SJHL games, weddings, award banquets and other events. She still calls Yorkton home and her father, who recently retired, has chosen to keep her name in the forefront by opening the “Tracey James Steakhouse” which has become a favorite restaurant in the community.

In 1999, Tracey entered a nation-wide talent competition. Her vocal selections and luminous personality won the judges over. The Calgary Sun was quick to do an article about Tracey and CMT interviewed her and aired her performance. Her winnings included a Nashville recording session which resulted in the release of a self-titled CD in March of 2001. The CD became her calling card to the industry and prepared her for the next step in her career as a recording and touring artist.

Time and time again, Tracey's audiences have warmed to her personality and powerful vocals. Her popularity and fan base increases with each performance. This the reason that industry and fans alike have welcomed her new CD and why festivals, clubs and events are delighted to bring Tracey James to their stages.
